Our story

Four generations on
the same land.

On the edge of Bath, where Somerset opens up into rolling pasture and arable fields, our family has farmed here for four generations.

The farm

A mixed farm,
the old way.

This is a proper mixed farm. We run pedigree South Devon and Aberdeen Angus cattle on permanent pasture, alongside pigs, sheep, and chickens. The arable side of the farm grows crops that feed back into the rotation — everything connected, nothing wasted.

The cattle graze slowly. They're never pushed on grain, never rushed to finish weight. That patience shows up in the fat — clean, dense, golden. The kind of fat our great-grandparents would have recognised without being told what it was.

We believe a mixed farm is a more resilient farm. Livestock and land looking after each other, the way it's worked here for over a hundred years.

The process

Hand-cut,
slow rendered.

The fat is hand-cut by our butchers in the farm shop — trimmed to the right size for an even, gentle render. No shortcuts, no industrial mincers. Just a sharp knife and someone who knows the fat.

We render in small batches, low and slow, until the tallow is clean, golden, and has that subtle sweet beefy smell. That's how you know it's done properly — real tallow should be neutral, stable, and ready for anything.

Every jar can be traced back to the same herd, the same pasture, the same farm. That's not a marketing line — it's just how a small farm works.

What we stand for

Simple principles,
held to properly.

  • 01

    Single source

Every product comes from our own herd, on our own land. We don't buy in fat, blend suppliers, or white-label. One farm, one source.

  • 02

    Grass-fed, always

Our South Devon and Aberdeen Angus cattle graze on permanent pasture. No grain finishing, no feedlots. The fat reflects what the animal ate — and ours ate well.

  • 03

    Nothing added

Our tallow is one ingredient: beef fat. Not bleached, not deodorised, not hydrogenised. No seed oils, no chemicals, no preservatives. Sugar free, gluten free, non-GMO. Rendered properly, tallow doesn't need any of that.

Try it yourself.
